Beethoven’s Archduke Trio – free afternoon concert
Beethoven’s Archduke Trio is not only one of his most famous small-scale works, but also his most dramatic and sublime. It’s named in honour of Archduke Rudolph, a pupil of the composer and son of Emperor Leopold II. In this free afternoon concert the Plaegan Piano Trio are pairing Beethoven with an equally inspiring Trio written 100 years later by English composer John Ireland.
