Roots and Routes of Maids Moreton
Heritage Open Day: Discover fascinating facts and hidden secrets about the four main footpaths out of our village. Where do they go and why? Explore the comings and goings of others: the Romans, the Holloway, the Canal and the Hedgerows. Displays and refreshments. There is a route out of Maids Moreton near enough at the 4 compass points. Each is very different. The path to the field that was ridge and furrow running beside the Manor gardens (now a housing estate), the track to the osier beds now rarely used, the tree lined avenue to town and the Holloway to the river. The Maids Moreton Conservation Group is researching the history and use of the old routes to create a display with information and photographs.
