St Andrew’s Grafham “On Airâ€
Heritage Open Day: St Andrew’s Grafham will host our very own Amateur Radio group on Saturday 14 September and combine with CHOTA, Chapels & Historic Churches on the Air. Using call sign GB0HWG we hope to connect with many such groups in the UK & USA . Grafham will be “On the Airâ€. In our beautiful country churchyard with views to the Surrey Hill we will host SEMARC a Surrey based club for radio amateurs, often called “radio hamsâ€, who are interested in making electronics projects related to radio communications. Combined with an event called CHOTA (Chapels & Historic Churches on the Air), they will set up a special event station at St Andrew’s using the callsign GB0HWG.
This event began in England over 65 years ago and last year groups in the USA also participated.
