A guided walk of Radnor Street Cemetery

Heritage Open Day: Join us for a guided walk around Swindon’s historic cemetery and hear the stories of some of our town’s former residents, buried here. Radnor Street Cemetery opened in 1881 and closed during the 1970s. The site covers approximately 11½ acres and contains 33,000 burials including the great and the good of Swindon society. There are 104 CWGC graves tended by our volunteers. There are also a great many unmarked public graves reflecting the poor, working class families who could not afford either a burial plot nor a monument.
