Vicar on the Matterhorn

Heritage Open Day: Learn about the ascent of the Matterhorn in 1938, with a vicar born in Ripon taking part. Rev’d Charles Hudson, born in Ripon, was in the party that conquered the Matterhorn in 1865. Hear of the success and failure of the climb - with film clips from a 1938 epic! An illustrated talk by David Winpenny, Co-Chair of Ripon Civic Society.
