The Breakfast Club

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.

‘Shot in sequence during 1984, The Breakfast Club became a benchmark for all that followed in the genre.’ Ben Falk, BBC.com

‘Rarely have on-screen teens felt this authentic. They bluster, bicker and trade horrible insults, then suddenly expose their most guarded feelings.’ Rafer Guzman, Newsday

‘Hughes has a wonderful knack for communicating the feelings of teenagers, as well as an obvious rapport with his exceptional cast - who deserve top grades.’ Kathleen Carroll, New York Daily News
