Pipes in the Park
Colchester’s Lower Castle park is turned into a mini Highland gathering as pipes and drums from across the south of England play amazing medleys of Scottish tunes as they perform in the arena.

Around 200 pipers and drummers will be descending on Colchester's Lower Castle Park on Sunday 15 June for Pipes in the Park, bringing that evocative sound of bagpipes and a colourful swirl of kilts. It's the biggest festival of piping in Southern England, and will bring together local bands from Essex, Suffolk and Cambridge plus some from as far afield as Plymouth and Leicester.
