Wild Life Drawing : Miniature Pigs

Having a bad day Need a bit of a pick-me-up Well, we recommend spending time in the company of Miniature Pigs.

These intelligent, emotional animals bring with them a calming atmosphere, a gentle manner and positive energy by the bucketload. And you’ll be able to experience it for yourself, at our Easter Special drawing classes with Miniature Pigs at the Florence Nightingale Museum.

Florence Nightingale understood the healing power of spending time caring for animals and recognised the mutual benefits for both species. So as well as drawing, there will be plenty of opportunities for cuddles and belly scratches, and to give the piggies a good brush – their favourite thing in the world!

We will be joined by the team at Kew Little Pigs who will be bringing along a couple of their finest and friendliest pigs from this year’s litter. The class will be led by wildlife artist Laura Cuppage, who will get you started with her top tips for drawing moving ‘models’. Throughout the session, Laura will be on hand with as much creative guidance as you’d like, and the Kew Little Pigs team will be all ears for your piggy ponderings. The class is open to everyone, all abilities are welcome and all artistic styles are celebrated! We will provide everything you need to get sketching – drawing boards, paper and a wide range of materials- but feel free to bring along your own kit if you’d like. We welcome children aged 5 and over as long as they are accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class.

Here at Wild Life Drawing we are a small team who are dedicated to animal welfare. We only ever work with animal handlers who treat their animals with the utmost care and respect, and healthy animals that are happy travelling and being around humans. The animals at Kew Little Pigs are destined for lives as family pets and therapy animals, and are never, ever for meat.
