This island has been Prospero’s prison for twelve years.
His studies complete, and the island declared his own, he is ready to take revenge against those who banished him. He watches from the cliff tops as they are gathered. But life on this island prison has raised questions: is there something hiding at the frayed edge of his world? Will this strange something disrupt his plans?
Interrogating power and performance, and full of song, joy, and magic, Brave Mirror’s thrilling new adaptation of Shakespeare’s final masterpiece will play at The Cockpit in April 2025.
The production will be made sustainably using guidance from the Theatre Green Book. It will be developed collaboratively, in part via workshops with students and young people.
