Wantage Town Walk

Wantage Town Walk

Wantage is the birthplace of King Alfred the Great and a town with a long and fascinating history. This short walk will be mainly around the quiet backstreets, finishing (via the Market Square) at the Vale and Downland Museum in time for lunch. There will be stops at some of the more interesting buildings and places of note along the way, including the site of the Wantage Wharf and the Wantage Tramway. Discover more about this fascinating historic town.

Numbers are limited, so pre-booking is required. Bookings close three days beforehand.
