Spirit of the 1940s – Croydon care home invites community to honour VE
At Heavers Court, the team has been hard at work organising their own special commemorative event, which will take place from 12 noon. Guests and residents will enjoy a delicious lunch and stacks of cupcakes, as well as a live performance from the Hayward Sisters and a special talk and slide show from members of the Royal British Legion.
Ashura Mwilima, Home Manager at Addington Heights, added: “It has been great hearing residents sharing their cherished stories from wartime Britain – it’s been so inspiring to hear their experiences and learn from one another.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming new and old faces into Addington Heights as we mark such a significant moment in history with a wonderful tea party.”
