Art Foundation: Essentials for Beginners
Open to all adults, no experience required – only curiosity and enthusiasm to learn!
Looking to travel somewhere new this summer Take a journey into the world of art with our essentials. Our foundation course allows you to try out art, where you’ll get your hands moving, drawing and making. You’ll move through focused and inspiring weekly introductions to key art techniques – from drawing basics to colour mixing to printmaking and creating compositions. You’ll get to experiment with new materials, build some core skills and gain the courage to keep creating.
Course Breakdown
Week 1: Drawing Basics: Shape, Tone and Composition
Week 2: Abstract Still Life: Colour and Form
Week 3: Colour Charting: Mixing and Harmony
Week 4: Printmaking Techniques: Accessible and Fun!
Week 5: Watercolour and Pattern: Free Expression
Week 6: Final Composition: Bring It All Together
Who This Course Is For
Anyone who wants to explore art for the first time – or if you’d like to refresh what you’ve learned in the past – this course is for you. Ideal for beginners, no experience or prior knowledge is required.
This course is a welcoming stepping stone that may lead you to other visual arts courses at the Landmark Arts Centre requiring more experience.
Materials
All materials are provided. Do bring your curiosity and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.
