Llanfyllin Music Festival 2025: Ensemble Renard wind quintet
An afternoon concert with the Ensemble Renard, who play contrasting pieces from three composers:
19th century musician Reicha is known as the father of the wind quintet - his Op 88 No 1 is a favourite in the genre.
La Nouvelle Orleans is a jazzy piece by Lalo Schifrin who composed the theme to Mission Impossible as well as numerous film scores.
Klughart isn't a familiar name today; this composer was a contemporary of Liszt. His Wind Quintet Op 79 is delightful.
