An International Celebration of Culture, Creativity, and Belonging

Art in the Park 2025, hosted by MKIAC, will take place on Saturday 21st June 2025, from 1pm to 9pm at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes. Coinciding with International Refugee Week, this free, family-friendly festival celebrates culture, art, and belonging, with a focus on the stories and contributions of refugees.

Highlights include:

The Parade of Colours, led by Tamzyn (Kinetika Bloco) with art by Emma Garofalo, showcasing unity through music and movement.

Live performances from:

Sefo Kanuteh (Gambian kora and balafon)

Greek performers
Satyam Dance
Yemeni Cultural Music Group
Interactive art workshops:
Tote bag design with Islamic or stencil art (£10)
Free: Islamic calligraphy (Abu Yahya) and Turkish marbling (Ebru)
Food village with global cuisines
Funfair for all ages

Everyone is encouraged to join the parade and showcase their heritage while supporting environmental sustainability.

Director Anouar Kassim MBE highlights the festival’s aim to create a space of visibility, inclusion, and joy for all. Supported by MK College, MK City Council, Arts Council England, and others.
