This is the launch of our new exhibition:
For the first time, the Bingley Gallery is hosting an exhibition of work by a tutored art class, but one that it has had close links with since the group’s inception a year ago.
The works on show demonstrate the creativity of a group of people with various levels of artistic skill, who meet just across the road in The Hub at Bingley Baptist Church most Saturdays. Jake Attree, a local artist leads the endeavour to be creative along with the minister, Simon Wakefield who also has an art background. The group encourage one another, providing ideas to help each develop their work, with friendliness and fun part of the mix. The Hub itself, just across the road from the gallery provides a warm, welcoming space that reflects Bingley Baptist’s vision to its community. The artwork on display is a diverse mix of ideas and techniques - of artists on a journey, a bit like pilgrims, learning from each other.
The preview takes place on Weds 4 june between 7 and 9pm
the exhibition then runs 10 to 5, Thursday to Sunday, running from 5th to 29th June.
