Songs from the Shows

Cantores Olicanae choir present their summer concert, Songs from the Shows, on Saturday 28th June at 7.30pm in St John’s Church, Ben Rhydding. This concert showcases music with enduring appeal from a selection of beloved musical shows.
A glorious medley from South Pacific by Rodgers and Hammerstein includes such memorable songs as ‘Some enchanted evening’, Bali Hi’ and ‘This nearly was mine’.

This groundbreaking medley provides outstanding choral treatments of some of his best-loved songs including ‘Comedy tonight’, ‘Not while I’m around’ and ‘Send in the clowns’. Last, but by no means least, the concert features a medley of songs by George and Ira Gershwin which includes twelve of their greatest hits including ‘Summertime’, ‘Someone to watch over me’ and the timeless, ‘Embraceable you’.
Cantores Olicanae are excited to be joined by the fabulous Ermysted’s Grammar School Swing Band. Proceedings will led by Musical Director James Savage-Hanford and accompanied by Robert Sudall.
