Dog owners, urine luck! This June, Victoria Park is turning into a hub for pet health with a first-of-its-kind pop-up from tailored dog-food experts, Tails.com.
On Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th June lamp posts along the Night Walk, one of the park’s main promenades, will be fitted with pH urine tests designed to flag abnormal acid or alkaline levels in dog urine, both of which can be early indicators of health issues. The activation provides dog owners with the chance to gather insight into their dog’s health, all whilst they’re out on their regular walk.
A quick sniff and a squat or a cock of the leg might be routine for a dog, but what’s left behind can reveal a lot more. Changes in urine can be early signs of things like infections or dietary issues, and spotting them early means fewer surprises later.
Tails.com’s Head Vet and Behaviourist will be on site between 9am and 7pm on both days. From offering advice to answering questions, they will be helping dog owners understand what their dog’s wee, and behaviour, might be trying to tell them.
But that’s not all. For those attending, a plethora of Tails.com treats will be available and for a keepsake, get ready to strike a paws! Mr Sketchum, a talented caricature artist known for capturing pups and their people will be drawing live portraits between 11am and 4pm across both days, with the opportunity for people to take the sketches home with them.
The activation sustains Tails.com’s commitment to support happy and healthy pets. With 72% admitting to taking time off work to care for sick pets, spotting signs early could make a big difference to you and your dog.
