Bill Elliott and Kev Youldon of Northern Roots will be singing to our visitors in the Courtyard.
So, if you would like to hear some live music on (hopefully) a sunny afternoon – buy yourself a cuppa and brunch/lunch from the café and sit outside in the Courtyard to listen to some canny folk tunes about the North East.
‘Northern Roots’ musicians Bill Elliott and Kevin Youldon have been playing music together for over 30 years. They perform a variety of Folk songs, both traditional and contemporary from the UK, Ireland and the USA on a variety of instruments, including guitars, mandolin, low whistle and Cittern. They have played at many Folk Clubs, Festivals and Special Concerts and will again be performing at this year’s Durham Miner’s Gala on the 12th of July.
If it’s a nice day, why not enjoy a healthy walk or cycle ride to get here – it’s a lovely route through Derwenthaugh Park and we have cycle racks on site.
Please note, all seating in the Courtyard, along with bench and planting area seating are reserved for customers of our café – picnics are welcome on the meadow area or in the park nearby (please don’t bring your own food/drink to our café seating areas).
