Echoes of Industry Exhibition

Echoes of Industry is a public sculpture installation at Southside Shopping Centre that reimagines Wandsworth’s industrial heritage through material transformation and collective memory. Created using reclaimed construction materials, found objects, and community contributions, the nine sculptures reflect cycles of labour, fragmentation, and renewal rooted in the borough’s evolving identity. Some elements of the work were co-created during the Co-Creating Wandsworth workshops with local participants, embedding lived experience and public voices directly into the installation.
Visitors are invited to walk among the sculptures, reflect on their materials and forms, and contribute personal responses, memories, associations, or reflections, by leaving their own “notes of echoes.”
Developed in collaboration with Wandsworth Council, the project is created by artist collective Studio EAST×EAST, with curatorial and graphic design led by Nova Ma.

Dong Ho Cho - Studio EASTxEAST
Dongho is an art and design creator with a background in business administration, sculpture, and interior
design. He is particularly interested in how people perceive and interact with space, as well as how art and
design can influence spatial cognition, seeking to enrich our understanding of space in everyday life.

Nova Ma
Nova Ma is a Designer and Artist exploring the relationship between space, materials, and sensory experience.
Working primarily with ceramics, her sculptures balance monumental presence with intimate storytelling. The
material’s intrinsic tension, brittle yet enduring, becomes a metaphor for resilience and subtle communication,
evoking collective memory and sensory narratives.
