Journey through one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies as mistaken identity, song, drunken behaviour, unrequited love and a pair of yellow stockings transport you to a world of wonder.
Split by a shipwreck, twins Viola and Sebastian unravel a prank-filled plot like no other as they join some of the Bard’s liveliest characters. Amidst the celebrations of Twelfth Night, Viola falls into a love triangle as Orsino and Olivia become infatuated with her; the problem being that Viola is disguised as her brother! But can all be forgiven when a harmless prank involving a letter and colourful attire imprisons the vengeful Malvolio?
Based in East Sussex, Bowler Crab are a small independent theatre company that specialise in Shakespearean performances, casting actors from The National Theatre, BBC, RSC, The Globe, ITV, Channel 4 and film. Bowler Crab produced Twelfth Night in 2014 and again in 2018. Armed with fresh approaches from over a decade of touring Shakespeare across the UK, Bowler Crab returns to an old favourite as production 34 sets sail in 2025.
