Battleship Potemkin with Live Music by Videodromo

For the first time in London, Videodromo will offer you one of the most immersive experiences, musicalised by a skilled and experienced group of musicians bringing an all-time classic to life with many elements: rich and assorted instrumentation, lightning play, live video colouring, and costumes.

Battleship Potemkin, considered one of the best movies in history, was shot in 1925, far before the concept of the modern film was established. A vast number of extras and actors were used, in addition to several editing and montage techniques that were considered a revolutionary novelty back in the day. The political content and graphic violence made the film banned for several decades in many countries, including the UK, but nowadays it’s glorified and recognised internationally for its innovative and transgressive style, and for helping to shape the concept of film we are familiar with today.

Videodromo is a collective of cinematographers, musicians, scenographers and designers expanding the borders in 2025 with several performances across different cities. Our goal is to bring old classics to life from a new perspective and to spread obscure gems of cinema history to younger audiences.

Some of the events organised in the past include The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, Soviet animation special, Pied Piper of Hamelin, A Page of Madness, among others, all of them being great successful sold-out shows.
