Salford Quays Brass Quartet: Join us on Saturday 6 July for the next in our series of free Coffee Concerts.
Salford Quays Brass Quartet are students at the Royal Northern College of Music and play for some of the UK’s leading brass bands, including Brighouse and Rastrick, The KNDS Fairey Band, Leyland Band and Rothwell Temperance Band.
The Quartet feature in many concerts with a particular interest in new compositions exploring the sounds of a brass instrument, most recently premiering two new commissions at the RNCM Festival of Brass by esteemed composers: Lucy Pankhurst and Jonathan Bates.
Salford Quays Brass Quartet are also heavily involved in the RNCM Brass Engage Programme, which brings new audiences into the university and supports the music curriculum within schools in the local area. The programme gives the quartet the opportunity to present workshops to several schools and music services across the country, Salford Quays Brass Quartet is becoming a leading group in offering engaging presentations on the introduction to Brass with an ethos that everyone should have the opportunity to play.
