Honestly covers a tricky time in Chloe’s life when she has been caught and found guilty of a serious crime. She faces either prison or a treatment for a mental illness. Is she a villain or a victim
Meanwhile Emma has the job of determining just who and what Chloe is and she is in danger of buckling under Chloe’s endless twists and turns. Ask a compulsive liar if they are telling the truth.
Honestly is both dark and humorous and based on a true story, ironically. The play takes a sideways look at what value we place on honesty in the 21st century. Isn’t it much easier to live inside a version of the truth that is comfortable and, if you don’t like it, simply move on
