The inaugural Crieff Film Festival is on from 8–10 August 2025 for a weekend celebrating film, creativity, and community spirit in the heart of Perthshire. This year’s programme shines a spotlight on local pride, with a special nod to Crieff’s own Ewan McGregor and Denis Lawson — two celebrated actors with deep roots in the town. Whether you're a die-hard fan or simply curious, the festival offers the perfect chance to celebrate their cinematic legacy.
Screenings will take place across two iconic venues: Strathearn Arts and Crieff Hydro, showcasing a diverse mix of films including Scottish classics, family favourites, and standout features.
All screenings and workshops are completely free, and with every ticket secured, you’ll be automatically entered into a prize draw to win either a adult hamper or a children’s hamper packed with treats and surprises.
We’re also excited to host free creative film making workshops for children and young people, led by Scottish filmmaker David Barras (Electric Man). These hands-on sessions are designed to spark imagination, build confidence, and introduce young minds to the art of filmmaking.
The Crieff Film Festival is more than just a weekend of films — it’s a celebration of community, culture, and local talent. With deep ties to the town’s heritage through stars like Ewan McGregor and Denis Lawson, the festival invites locals and visitors alike to come together and experience the magic of cinema.
