This July, LNER is inviting you to explore the ‘Train of the Future’, an interactive futuristic pop-up that offers a glimpse into what the next 50 years of train travel could look like.
Partnering with Applied Futurist, Tom Cheesewright, and asking train passengers of today what they would most like to see in 50 years’ time, the predictions have been brought to life as windows into the future in the LNER ‘Train of the Future’, stationed at London King’s Cross 30th July - 1st August 2025.
Free to the public, visitors can experience a cutting-edge installation showcasing state-of-the-art visual representations of what the future of train travel might entail, including floor to ceiling windows for 360 degree views, faster and more sustainable travel times, odourless food, and smart seating with a focus on health, wellbeing and ultimate comfort.
This initiative is part of Railway 200 celebrations. Railway 200 is a cross-industry partnership making the bicentenary of the modern railway.
