Meet the Maker - Rhianne Sian
Come and meet Rhianne Siân at the Heritage Centre for another of this year’s ‘Meet the Maker’ events.
Rhianne Siân is an illustrator based in County Durham and is the face behind ‘Rhianne Siân Designs’, creating detailed illustrations which are then made into gifts, stationery and homeware.
Rhianne has built up her collection of classic and contemporary illustrated artwork, showcased across her unique artworks, prints and a wide range of British made homeware and gift products.
All designs originate from Rhianne’s own artwork. Each illustration is digitally developed where various layers of detail, colour and texture is added. The illustrations are then collaged together to create contemporary and sophisticated surface designs.
“I have been obsessed with art and design for as long as I can remember. At a young age, I was fascinated by the creative opportunities that were arising in digital design. I would sit on my computer and create pretty website layouts for my friends, design party invitations and gifts. Looking back now, it seemed like I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I was older, without even realising it.
After studying Art & Design throughout school, college and university, in 2017, I graduated with a First Class Honors Degree in Textiles and Surface Design from the Northern College of Art and Design. For years I dreamt of owning my own business and after spending some time working in London, I decided to follow my dream and ‘Rhianne Siân Designs’ was established later that year!”
A selection of Rhianne’s work will be available to purchase for a short 2-week period in our shop from 25th July, or directly from her on the Meet the Maker Day, where you can browse, purchase some of Rhianne’s artwork.
We also have our Meet & Greet Goats & Sheep (booking essential), live music in the Courtyard with Julie and William and Scoops n Smiles Ice Cream Van – see separate listings for more information.
