Open Doors and Food Fair at Llanfyllin Wokhouse

A Heritage Open Day and Food Fair at Llanfyllin's historic Workhouse, Y Dolydd: set in glorious countryside beside the A490 on the way to Lake Vyrnwy. Held at one of Britain's best preserved Victorian workhouses, under restoration by a community trust and home to a range of creative enterprises.

There will be two floors of stalls inside and more outdoors, showcasing the best in artisan food, drink and craft products from Wales and the borders, with tempting produce and street food to enjoy or take home. Children can bake their own free pizza on the wood-fired cob oven.

Live entertainment will include traditional music from harpist John Browne and stage performances from Club Mambo, Sonya Smith and Cass Meurig. Local artists will present an exhibition of paintings, sculptures, photographs and glass. Open studios will feature print making, basket weaving and model railway building.

A picture presentation will describe the building’s restoration over the last twenty years. There will be history tours and displays all through the day and children can try on workhouse costumes.
