At this workshop, we'll be working with the change of seasons, noticing how the transition from summer to autumn affects the landscape. Not only that, how does it affect us How are we getting ready to move forward into the next phase
There will be plenty of prompts to help you and lots of freedom to move through the beautiful woodland space: feeling, noticing, absorbing, the changes that are occurring all around.
With all the notes you collect - from the prompts and your observations - you'll be guided to help bring them together to form a poem that will reflect and capture this transitional time.
The workshop is as much about mindfulness as it is about writing; being in nature and absorbing yourself in the surroundings of a beautiful woodland setting. With me as your guide, you'll be able to collect your observations, thoughts, feelings and memories. We are all writers inside.
So why don't you come and write some words with me in a beautiful outdoor setting near Sevenoaks, Kent Little Elses is a hidden gem near the village of Weald in Kent, easy to access just off the A21. I chose this setting not only because of the private woodland space it provides, but also because I love the ethos of the custodians of this woodland.
I believe poetry comes from within and doesn't have to follow a set pattern or scheme. At this workshop, we will be drawing on your experiences and emotions, both in general and on the day. And who doesn't love spending time with the trees
This poetry writing workshop in a natural setting aims to be a mindful experience. It will be an exercise to awaken the senses and tune in to what is around us, making connections and evoking memories.
It is a workshop is for everybody, and for anyone who would like to explore their connection with nature through words. I'm inviting you to come along, take off your shoes and feel the Earth beneath your feet, listen, look, smell and just be.
