The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival at Hambleden

Across Mountains and Valleys- An opportunity to experience music performed by World Class classical musicians on our very doorstep

The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival, celebrating its 15th anniversary, takes us on a special journey across Across Mountains and Valleys in five concerts featuring music written by some of our most intrepid musical explorers. Music that looks back to its national roots as well as being inspired by travel and adventure.

Once again we will be joined by some of the most celebrated musicians performing in the world today, including:
Artistic Director Lawrence Power (viola/violin), Vilde Frang (violin), Nicolas Altstaedt (cello), Benjamin Marquise-Gilmore (violin), Timothy Ridout (viola), Simon Crawford-Phillips (piano), John Myerscough (cello).

The Festival, which was hailed by The Guardian newspaper as “One of the top ten classical music events of 2021” was the creation of Founder and Artistic Director, violist Lawrence Power.

Lawrence Power was recently feted by the New York Times as A Musician on a mission to make us pay attention to the viola…. Power is redefining what the viola can do .

He makes time in his incredibly busy career as an international soloist to return to the area where he was born and brought up to present three days of the most fantastic chamber music.
