World of Wine Tasting: Bordeaux with Château Monbrison

Bordeaux has made a lasting impact on the world of wine – from being the birthplace of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to shaping generations of winemakers. For centuries, it’s charmed the Britis, birthed ‘Claret’, and built an empire of world-class blends. But behind the grand labels is a region rooted in craftsmanship, community, and a deep love of the vine.
We’re delighted to welcome Château Monbrison for a two-hour tasting exploring the icons, classics, and hidden gems of Bordeaux’s Left Bank – from crisp whites grown in the gravelly soils of Graves to elegant reds from the storied vineyards of Margaux and Haut-Médoc.
Monbrison’s roots run deep in the region. In 1922, an American pastor married into Bordeaux wine royalty and bought Château Monbrison. Bombed in WWII, revived by his daughter, and now run by grandson Laurent and his four kids, the estate blends tradition with bio-biodynamic rebellion – proving great wine (and grit) runs in the family.
We'll be pouring six incredible wines, including a welcome drink, sharing stories of the winemaker, the unique terroirs, and the winemaking traditions that make the wines of Bordeaux so iconic. So whether you're a die-hard Bordeaux lover or just looking to expand your horizons beyond supermarket shelves, this event is for you.
