Hidden Star – The Story of Annie Walker

Hidden Star is a lyrical, intimate character study of Annie Walker, a long-forgotten late 19th century astronomer.

The work crosses the boundaries of arts, sciences and social history, using contemporary words and music to create a real woman, exploring the impact of the destruction of her career. It touches on issues facing women in science and opens up the work of unseen scientists, without whose work our knowledge of the universe would be poorer. Work in progress performances will allow audiences to guide the development of our work.

The opera is supported by the University of Cambridge Institute of Astronomy.
