JAZZ VOCAL WORKSHOP with Brigitte Beraha
A rare opportunity for singers of all levels to explore and develop their vocal abilities under the guidance of top-class International Jazz vocalist Brigitte Beraha, one of the leading performers and educators in the field today.
ABOUT BRIGITTE: Embracing a wide variety of music influences and genres, from jazz and latin to classical and, more recently, electronic, Beraha’s sound is free and fluid with an emphasis on exploration and expression. Fearlessly testing the limits of the voice as instrument, her sound is distinguished by the unexpected, with free improvisation and evocative wordless singing at its core. In her role as ‘Professor Of Jazz Voice’ she currently teaches jazz vocals at the ‘Guildhall School of Music & Drama’, ‘Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance’ and the ‘Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’.
THE WORKSHOP: In this Introduction to Jazz Singing Brigitte will touch on everything from basic breathing and vocal techniques to glimpses into the Jazz repertoire, possibilities of its interpretation and finding ultimate freedom in improvisation. Wherever your musical preferences may lie, you will find a relaxed and nurturing environment and plenty of encouragement to explore your voice through both group and individual singing.
