Clitheroe Castle Museum

Heritage Open Day: Enjoy free entry to Clitheroe Castle Museum The historic landmark of Clitheroe Castle, in the heart of the Ribble Valley, offers fun and exploration for all the family. The museum stands high on Castle Hill, in the shadow of the Castle Keep, an image which has dominated Clitheroe's skyline for over 800 years.

Clitheroe Castle Museum occupies the former Steward's House, a Grade II listed building dating from the 18th century, with various additions and changes of layout. Our intriguing galleries will take you on a journey through 350 million years of history, heritage and geology of the local area. Younger hearts may take an adventure kitted out with rucksack, map and magnifying glass!

You can also explore 16 acres of parkland, home to Lancashire's first Labyrinth and a Creative Activity Area at the foot of the keep.
