Wellington at Walmer: A Churchman, Statesman and Gentleman
Heritage Open Day: Free Illustrated Talk for Open Heritage Weekend - to coincide with the 173rd anniversary of The Duke of Wellington’s death at Walmer Castle in 1852. The talk will be given by Revd Dr Richard Warden, Former Army Chaplain and Chaplain of Wellington College.
After the talk, there will be the opportunity to visit the Old Blessed St Mary’s Church, in Church Road, Walmer where the Duke of Wellington attended worship for 23 years when resident in Walmer Castle. It is a short walk or two mins by car.
