The Great Barn at Harmondsworth

Heritage Open Day: The Great Barn at Harmondsworth is the star of the many listed buildings in the village. The original timber structure is unaltered, is Grade I listed, and was designed exactly 600 years ago. Come and explore this marvel of medieval architecture! Harmondsworth has a long history as an agricultural community, dating back to early medieval times and continuing to the present day. The Great Barn and the adjacent parish church of St Mary have stood at the centre of the village for all of that time and seen history unfold around them. The displays in the Barn illustrate the story of its construction and use and include the conservation/repairs carried out in 2014.
