Heritage Open Day: A showcase of a remarkable building, celebrating the stories of its uses and users. There will be exhibitions of its changing life and structure, the chance to go backstage and live performances, including a vintage vocalist, throughout the day. From its origins as a centre for public entertainment with reading rooms and a rifle range, its notable service as a V.A.D hospital during World War I, and home to an infant welfare centre, the hall has stood as a silent witness to our town's history. Renovated after World War II as a memorial to those who served, it has been the cherished home of Merrydays Montessori Nursery and Henley Drama Society, amongst others, since the 1950s.
