Wisbech & Fenland Museum Open Access

Heritage Open Day: Enjoy free entry to the Museum on Saturday 13 September. Museum admission charges will be waived for all visitors on Saturday, 13 September as part of Heritage Open Days 2025.
Wisbech & Fenland Museum is one of the first purpose-built museums in the world. Designed by George Buckler, the Grade II* listed building opened on the 27th July 1847.
The collections were initiated by the town's Literary and Museum Societies, which were formed in 1781 and 1835, respectively. Since the Museum opened, the collections have continued to grow, but the internal essence of the Museum remains true to its Victorian heritage. So come and discover a treasure house of rare and unusual artefacts illuminating history both local and worldwide, ancient and modern.
