Heritage Open Day: The 32nd Cornwall Regiment of Foot will be setting up camp at Maker Heights, providing an immersive experience for visitors surrounded by period accurate defences. Live musket and cannon firing! The 32nd Cornwall Regiment of Foot, a local re-enactment group, will be camping on the old Parade Ground at Maker Heights. They will be demonstrating the tools, skills, and weapons of an 18th Century infantry regiment, complete with demonstrations of marching and drill, as well as musket and cannon firing! Organised by local historical experts, visitors will be welcome to ask questions and learn about the life of an 18th Century Soldier.
Depending on the weather, the Regiment will demonstrate musket firing in the mid afternoon of both Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st.
During the event there will be open access to the Visitors Centre, and certain rooms within an 18th Century Barracks. Parking and facilities are provided the green Nissen Huts.
