Children's Activities at Place House Hall

Heritage Open Day: Ware’s Grade I listed medieval hall, Place House Hall, will be open on Saturday 13th September 11.30am - 4pm with history activities for children all day
Refreshments will be on sale Learn about life as a child in the 17th century and enjoy free history activities including dressing up in Tudor clothes, trying 17th century handwriting, dismantling a wooden scarf joint and putting back together, designing a coat of arms etc

In 1685, Place House became a school for young Christ’s Hospital children which had been founded by King Edward VI. Place House and its surrounding outbuildings became a home and place of learning for many young boys. The Bluecoats (called this because of their distinctive uniform) became a familiar site around Ware for many years.

Children must not be left unattended please
