Heritage Open Day: We at Rings End Local Nature Reserve invite you and your friends and family on a discovery of your local nature reserve’s ghost-train-ly past! We would love you to explore our “post-industrial†nature site, for it was a train track until the 1980s. Rings End Local Nature Reserve is a Cambridgeshire County Council-owned site that is described as a “post-industrial†nature reserve, and we at Friends of Rings End Nature Reserve, who help with running this site, would like people to have an opportunity to explore this. The track that had been handed to nature (after it was all finally dismantled in the early to mid 1980s) was a railway from 1867, when it was opened by Great Northern Railway.
