Illuminating the Chance Glassworks Collection at Sandwell Archives

Heritage Open Day: Join us at Sandwell Archives in celebration of the Chance Brothers Ltd. collection- a glassworks formerly based in Smethwick- with hands-on demonstrations and workshops, talks from staff, and archives that capture Chance's innovations. Did you know the Chance Brothers produced lighthouse apparatus for countries including Chile, China, and Malta?

Join us at Sandwell Archives to celebrate the innovations, workers, and collections of Chance Brothers Ltd.- a glassworks that once operated just down the road from our archives!

Explore all there is to know about the Chance Brothers by gaining hands-on experience with archive material, chatting to our fabulous volunteers, joining fascinating talks from our Local Studies Librarian, and creating your own Chance-inspired art.
