Heritage Open Day: To mark its 150th anniversary, Trinity Church will be open throughout Saturday with an exhibition telling the story of the church from 1875 to 2025. On Sunday there will be a tour and talk. Set in the leafy Victorian neighbourhood of Albert Park, just off Ock Street, Trinity Church is an example of Gothic Revival architecture with a 128-foot spire that rises above Conduit Road. Opened in 1875 for the Wesleyan Methodist community, its stone walls, stained glass windows, and spacious nave and sanctuary reflect the ambitions of 19th-century Methodism—confident, visible, and no longer tucked away in “square, watertight tanks.â€
The church stands apart from the Conduit Centre, originally a school hall and now a community building.
