Pepper Hill Unitarian Chapel

Heritage Open Day: Visit this charming moorland nonconformist chapel with art-deco stained-glass windows and a fascinating history on 20th and 21st September 2025. View the interior with unique art-deco stained-glass windows.

Learn about its history, beginning in Northgate End Unitarian Chapel, Halifax. Learn about the energetic, possibly eccentric man whose enthusiasm began it all. See where the 'Man who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo' held a party to celebrate his win!

Chartists, Conscientious objectors, early female ministers all feature in the history of the Chapel. We were one of the first in the area to register to hold same-sex marriages.
