Heritage Open Day: Historic Grade II* listed Baptist Chapel, Sunday School and burial ground.The chapel features an ornate marble and alabaster pulpit, stained glass windows by Powell Bros. of Leeds, and an impressive 1891 organ by Wordsworth & Co. Join us for Building Wainsgate – a day packed with hands-on activities, a walk, a talk, and tours that bring the story of this extraordinary chapel to life. Conservation architect Bernadette Bone and sculptor Hannah Honeywill will lead creative workshops for all ages, from architectural rubbings and model-making to reimagining Wainsgate’s past, present, and future.
