St Eustachius Parish Church Tours

Heritage Open Day: The tours will provide the opportunity to explore Tavistock’s splendid parish church: to learn something of its 700-year history, to walk around the beautiful building, and to see some of the important artefacts within the church Tavistock Parish Church sits in the centre of the town and forms an important part of the town’s Heritage Quarter. The church which was closely associated with the nearby C10 Benedictine Abbey of Our Lady and St Rumon dates from at least 1265. The present church, one of only two in England under the patronage of St Eustachius, was dedicated in 1318, although the present building dates mainly from later in the C14. The church is listed II* (particularly important building of more than special interest) and contains many beautiful artefacts.
