Georgian Rural Life in the Peak district

Heritage Open Day: Living history in Spencer's Yard of Georgian Life. At Spencer's Yard, there is a reconstructed cottage and outbuildings, furnished and detailing village life in the Peak District during the mid-18th century. There will be costumed interpreters.

Early Victorian shepherd's hut on display with shepherds' tools and artefacts of the time. Old local shepherd's smock, kindly recently donated, on display in the Victorian Shepherd hut from the same date, late 19th century.)

We also have a Gypsy grinding barrow on display (1900s) in the yard
