Heritage Open Day: Romsey Signal Box - a Working Museum, with hands-on activities for everyone. Routes, Networks and Connections - the HODs theme fits perfectly with this heritage transport location.
Romsey Signal Box has been preserved and restored to full operational order. We encourage people of all ages and interests to attend, including accompanied children.
During HODs 2025, the signal box will be open for two days, when it will be operated on a demonstration basis. Visitors will be invited to get involved, pulling levers connected to signals outside, ringing bells, and assisting with the operation.
To celebrate Rail200, we shall have a display about the history of railway signalling, put into context of railways and society in general.
