Heritage Open Day: Make the most of free entry to Oxburgh Estate on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. Explore Victorian Gothic interiors, curious collections, peaceful woodland walks and colourful gardens. It’s hard not to fall in love when you catch your first glimpse of the imposing brick manor house reflected in the tranquil moat. Despite its fortified appearance, Oxburgh hall was built in 1482 as a family home by the Bedingfelds, and theirs is a story of survival.
Inside, peel back the layers of history as you wander through a house filled with portraits and treasured objects. Outside, the original gardens and parkland form a mixture of formal and wilderness, from the productive kitchen garden and herbaceous border to estate walks through woodland and meadow.
