Heritage Open Day: A grade II listed building, one of Manchester's first bus garages, now used as a transport museum. A collection of over 80 vehicles, mainly buses, but including a fire engine, prototype Metrolink tram, lorries and ancillary vehicles, along with a substantial collection of smaller items such as signage, uniforms, ticket machines (with hands-on displays), badges and similar objects, supported by displays of photographs and documents. There is a shop selling a range of transport related memorabilia, and a small Tea Room for light refreshments. There should be an opportunity to ride on some of the vehicles during the weekend. Children under 16 must be accompanied.
