Narborough Bone Mill

Heritage Open Day: See our 16 foot waterwheel turning, original brick floors & remains of Victorian mill buildings, model of mill, finds uncovered during excavations in our visitor centre which is a mini replica of the original building. Have a guided tour of the site. The Narborough bone mill is situated on a picturesque site on the bank of the River Nar about a mile from the village. Access to the site is via a beautiful 15 to 20 minute walk from the free car park (transport is available), dogs are welcome. There are the remaining floors of buildings, pieces of old machinery, tunnels, an underground chamber and many interesting finds such as bones, metalwork, coins, a human skull bone and clay pipe fragments, along with the waterwheel.
